A Franz Joseph I Patriotic Navy Badge Newly Listed his Army Certificate of AppreciationA diamond shaped badge constructed of gilded metal with white enamel, the obverse centre bears the left facing portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I with the inscription VIRIBUS UNITIS (WITH UNITED FORCES) to the left, circumscribed with UNSER LAND GOTT ERHALTE GOTT BESCHTZE UNSERN KAISER (GOD PRESERVE GOD PROTECT OUR EMPEROR OUT COUNTRY), in gilt letters on white enamel, the reverse is plain and bears a horizontal pinback, measuring 45. 32 mm, very fine.
