This is a lovely brass mounted long Flintlock Horse pistol, featuring a very nice "long eared" butt cap and a captured ramrod, so it would not easily be lost while on horseback. It has a lovely patina of age, and the lock plate tail is marked WARRANTED, indicating that it is most likely a trade lock, made for retailers and suppliers. These were left blank, so that the retailer outfitter could mark them with their own
