Saxony, Kingdom. A Helmet Plate consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac Minesweeper War Badge - In(Helmemblem). Constructed of brass, the obverse consisting of an eight pointed radiant starburst, bearing a central wreathed and crowned Saxon coat of arms, the reverse with two sets of butterfly clips securing the obverse applique in place, retaining one of two attachment loops, unmarked, measuring 12 cm (w) x 12 cm (h), demonstrating loss of finish to the base metal and period repairs to the attachment loops, in better than very fine condition.
